The poor condition of the pitch and a strong wind affected play from the start as the teams failed to produce any decent football for most of the opening 15 minutes. Although the Hare's had the better possession during this period neither side created a decent goalscoring chance and it was not until the 18th minute the Red's opened the scoring when the referee awarded them a penalty when HARRY NEWMAN was knocked over in the penalty area. The player quickly recover from the challenge and calmly converted the spot kick.
The Hare's went close to doubling their lead minutes later when a shot from RYAN ASHE went just over the bar, However the game remained generally a stalemate until the 33rd minute when SELDYN GRANT fouled one of Green's players just outside United’s penalty area. He was caution for his challenge and from the resultant free-kick Holmer levelled the score when their Dean Allen shot struck the Hare's defensive wall and the ball was deflected into the net before the Hare's goalkeeper could recover. The home side had the better possession for the remainder of the half but only managed to win a couple of corners which were easily dealt with by the Red's defence and their was no further score before the break.
The match was fairly even in the 2nd half with most of the action being in midfield and very few chances being created, However in the closing minutes of the game the Hare's began to mount a series of attacks on Holmer's goal but they were kept at bay by a good performance from Henry Craven the Green's goalkeeper and it was well into time added on by the referee that the Hare's stole the points when HARRY NEWMAN latched onto the ball just outside Holmer's area and he beat the keeper with a shot into the corner of the net.
