HARE'S HIT COCKFORSTERS FOR 6

The match started with the Hare's having the better possession and they created the better chances in the opening exchanges and it was not surprising that they took the lead in the 15th minute when from inside the penalty area HARRY NEWMAN side footed the ball into the corner of the net before the Cockfoster's goalkeeper could respond. The Red's doubled their lead 10 minutes later when DANNY BENNELL headed the ball home from a corner taken by CHRIS MILLS.
The Red's continued to dominate the game and in the 40th minute they were unlucky not to score again when HARRY NEWMAN put the ball in the net from inside the box but his effort was ruled offside. Cockfoster's created their best chance of the half almost immediately after this but their shot was well saved by MATT ELSTON-BULL and it was United who scored again on the stroke of half time when KYLE MATTHEWS broke down the right wing and crossed the ball into the box where RICKY PITHER steered the ball into the net.
The Hare's started the 2nd half again on the attack and they increased their lead in the 51st minute when BEN GILL scored with a long range shot from just inside the visitors half. United continued to pressurize Cockfoster's and from a corner in the 58th minute LIAM HIND nodded the ball home from close range. The Hare's had further chances after this but their best shot hit the post and this appeared to give the visitors a boast as they they went on the attack and were unlucky not to score when their shot hit the cross bar.
United did not respond to Cockfoster's renewed spirited efforts and the visitors scored in the 75th minute when a shot from inside the box was saved by the Red's goalkeeper but the ball went to Cockfoster's Junior Adeuye who smashed the ball into the net. The Hare's appeared to quickly recovered from this set back as they scored again in the 83rd minute when TOM HUNT scored from a cross field pass, However the Red's again had a lapse of concentration and the visitors scored the last goal of the game when their Jack Blackmore got in between the Hare's defence and lobbed the ball into the net.
The players should be pleased with their overall performance as they played some good football in this 8 goal thriller.
