The Hare's had the better possession in the first half and they produced several good moves and created good scoring opportunities by delivering the ball into dangerous positions in the penalty areas, However United's strikers failed to capitalise on these as they never tested the visitors goalkeeper with shots on target. St Margaretsbury also failed to have a decent strikes on goal during this period and the teams went in at half time without scoring.
After the break it was a reversal of the first half with the visitors having the better possession and they created an early chance from a corner when their striker hit the ball against a post but the Hare's defence managed to clear the rebound.
Both teams failed to test the respective goalkeepers after this until 82nd minute when visitors mounted a counter attack from deep in their own half and St Margaretbury's Brett O’Connor received the ball and he found the net from close range.
The Hare's had little time to recover from the set back and in the dying minutes of the full time RYAN EGAN was injured and he was unable to resume play. The Hare's had not got a player ready to replace him at such a late stage of the game and while he was off the pitch the visitors continued to attack and they doubled their lead when the Red's DANNY BENNELL deflected the ball into his own goal.
This was a disappointing second half performance from the Hare's especially as their best shot of the half was save by the visitors goalkeeper in time added on by the referee.
