HARE'S OUTPLAYED BY VISITORS

The Teams were evenly matched for the opening period of the game with neither side creating any clear-cut chances, however in the 26th minute the visitors had an attack down their left wing and the ball was played into the penalty area where their Rhys Lawrence quickly intercepted the ball and steered it into the net to give Colney the lead.
The match after the restart was again fairly even with both sides having a fair share of the play, but in the 42nd minute Colney's Levi Gunn doubled their lead when the Hare's defenders failed to clear the ball when they collided in the box.
The was no improvement in the team performance in the Second half as the players were unable to raise their game and they went further behind in the 55th minute when again from an attack down the visitors left flak their Matt Standon scored to give the visitors a comfortable lead.
The Hare's team at this stage were playing poorly as they were finding it difficult to function as a coordinated unit with the players not supporting each other both in defence and attack and it was therefore not surprising that in the 74th minute the visitors Dave Parkingson scored again.
The Hares had a series of attacks just before the final whistle and from one of these they were awarded a penalty for handball but they were deigned a consultation goal as the spot kick was save by Colney's goalkeeper when he pushed the ball round the post for a corner and then when the resultant corner fell to a Red's player in the penalty area his shot was cleared off the goal-line by a Heaths defender.
Colney Heather are one of the favourites to win the league and tonight they worthy winners of the match. The Hare's will need to improve on this performance if they wish to retain their position near the top of the league.

Team: Elston-Bull, Kinnane, Trenholme, Egan, Williamson (Gradwell 40), Grant, Matthews, Gill, (Porter 32) Chennells, Smith, Newman.
Subs. Not used: Keller, Burt.
