HARE'S LOSE FIRST HOME GAME

The Hare's have several new players this season and 5 of starting line up were making their home league début. The team started the match well and had the better possession in the opening exchanges but it was the visitors had the best shooting opportunities and in the 13th minute they hit the post with a snap shot. Play was fairly until the 20th minute when the Wembley goalkeeper failed clear the ball when he ran out of the penalty area and BEN PORTER seized onto the error and his shot at goal was deflected into the net by a Lions defender. The visitors were employing a more direct style of play and this proved to be effective as they equalised in the 26th minute when their Joe Wright scored from close range.
The Lions continued to attack but they were kept at bay by several good saves by the Reds new goalkeeper MATT ELSTON-BULL. The Hare's slowly fought back and in the 40th minute they were unlucky not to awarded a penalty but the referee waved play on and the teams went into the break level.
The start of the 2nd half was fairly even, However Wembley took the lead in the 65th minute when their Joe Wright scored again with a fierce shoot from the edge of the box. The visitors were in control of the match at that stage and they increased their lead in the 75th minute when their Steve O'Reilly scored from close range when he prodded home a long range shot. The Hare's change their formation after this and played with 3 at back and they pushed forward and attacked the Wembley defence. The Red created several chance and they should have converted some of these but but they failed to find the net and it was not until the 85th minute that they were eventually rewarded when HARRY NEWMAN drove the ball home.
The Hare's continue to attack for an equaliser but they were caught out with a Wembley breakaway and they awarded a penalty when the Hare's goalkeeper was adjudged to have fouled the Wembley striker . The visitors scored from the spot to complete their victory.
