THE FA COMES TO TOWN!

THE OPPOSITION

We welcome Hastings United, who will make the 100 mile journey to us on Saturday for our 1st round qualifying match in the FA Cup. Kick off is at 3pm.
Hastings United currently play in the Isthmian League South East Division for the 2021 season and currently sit 15th in the league after 2 games with 1 point. They started their league season the 14th August, drawing 1-1 with Herne Bay and 2 weeks later lost 3-2 to Ramsgate away from home. Hastings beat Beckenham Town in the last round of the FA CUP to progress to meet us with goals from Tom Chalmers, Jack Dixon and Sam Hasler. Hasting’s home ground is Pilot Field which currently has a capacity of 4,050.

THE MANAGER

Chris Agutter became first team manager in September 2017. After finishing ninth in 2018 and third in 2019, Hastings have topped the table in each of the past two halted seasons, losing just two league games in those two campaigns. Their efforts in 2019-20 were declared null and void along with all divisions below Step 1 in non-league football.

On Saturday, the clubhouse will be open from 11.30am, there will be refreshments available inside and at our burger bar located just in front of the main turnstiles, where you can purchase a burger, a hot dog and even a beer! Once again cash and cards are accepted here!

TRAVELLING TO THE GROUND

By Train

Harefield is not blessed with a train station, though there were plans in the 1940’s to build one in South Harefield. The nearest station to the ground is Northwood and Uxbridge where you can board a bus to the ground.

By Bus

From either Northwood or Uxbridge Station, board a 331 to Harefield. Ask the driver to let you know when you get the village green in Breakspear Road North, Harefield. Once off the bus, walk down Breakspear Road North away from the village for approx. 200m. The ground is on the right, you cannot miss it !

By Car

Leave the M25 at the M40 junction (16) heading into London, then exit at the Swakeleys roundabout, turn left signposted Ickenham, take a left at the first roundabout into Harvil road, continue down this round over one roundabout into Harefield village, at the roundabout turn right into Breakspear Road North and the ground is about 300 yards on the right-hand side

PARKING

There is a car park at Preston Park for approx 80 cars, with an overflow area for another 80 cars which fills up quickly on match days with players and staff. Around the ground are busy residential streets and like the car park, the whole area fills up quickly. Attempts should be made to park away from the area to ease congestion; if you do park locally then please do so with consideration and respect for our residential neighbours.

MATCH COVERAGE

The best way to keep up to date with all the action from the game this weekend is to follow the club’s Twitter account @harefieldutd for the line-up and in match goals and more
