Our opening day fixture couldn't have got off to a worse start when Reading scored within the first 3 minutes. A through ball wasn't dealt with and the Reading player took full advantage to give the visitors an early lead.

The Harefield side has seen many changes in preseason so maybe it was just a learning curve to start playing as a new team.
The heat was sweltering and neither team really created many chances in the first half.

The second half saw a much more determined Harefield, Montel Brown was stretching the Reading defence until he latched onto a ball through the middle to race away and place the ball in the far corner 1-1 78 minutes gone.

Harefield Were now on the search for the winner and it was that man Montel Brown who pounces on a defensive mistake and fires in to make it 2-1 on 83 minutes.

Reading still had time to get the equalizer and came close in the closing minutes, but the hares clung on to take all 3 points.
