A tough league game after two good cup wins………

Harefield were at home to Thames Valley Reds on Sunday. After two cup wins in a row, each in extra time, Harefield were looking for another solid performance.
We knew TVR were a strong side but we felt we had improved since we met them earlier in the season. However TVR had also improved and it was not long into the game when their speed and movement undid the Hares defence, and they scored their first goal.
In previous games, going a goal behind has spurred Harefield into action. This time however it was not to be and before long TVR scored again. Unfortunately this would be an ongoing theme throughout the game as TVR took control in all areas.
Harefield were regularly found ball watching as TVR attacked and for a time in the second half it seemed as though TVR would score on every attack. In contrast, the Hares rarely managed a shot on goal.
A resounding defeat for the Hares who were outplayed by a well drilled and, dare I say, superior team.
Taking the positives is not always easy in a game like this, but each player had a moment during the game where they showed real determination, effort and skill.
Harry E made some decent saves, Thomas R made some well-timed tackles, Alex G made some great runs and passes, Joseph B, William H and Kristof G once again battled hard in midfield, Travis C made some great tackles, while Harvey C proved how much of a threat he is as TVR used two players to mark him.
It was Harvey S who took the man of the match award for another tireless performance, tackling hard and turning defence into attack on more than one occasion.
Despite a tough game and a tougher score line, it is always great to see the lads still friendly and smiling after the match. This excellent team spirit will make them able to recover from games like this quickly and look forward to the next challenge.
